Pokémon Type Chart: All Strengths and Weaknesses
Now that the 25th anniversary of Pokémon has passed, it's a good time to reflect on everything we've discovered about this fantastic world over the years. There are now 8 Pokémon generations, featuring almost a thousand creatures, each of which can be classified by elemental types that have evolved over time.
While Pokémon elemental types have been known since the first generation, not all of them were introduced with the initial games. Over time, new types such as Steel and Fairy were added, making it harder to understand each Pokémon's strengths and weaknesses. Currently, we know of a total of 18 Pokémon types, which are shown below along with the types they are weak to.
Pokémon Type Chart and Weaknesses
To help you quickly learn about all the types, we've provided a comprehensive Pokémon type chart. Since the early games, we have had to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each type to win battles. This knowledge helps in selecting the right moves to achieve super effective attacks in each situation.
All Pokémon Types and Their Weaknesses
While a chart is more intuitive for identifying all Pokémon type weaknesses, we've also prepared a list for you to quickly look up the type you're interested in. A Pokémon weaknesses chart is perfect for studying and maximizing battle efficiency, while a list allows you to go directly to the type you want without spending extra time.

What are the parts of a Pokémon TCG card?
Play Area
When you Knock Out an opponent's Pokémon, you take one of your Prize Cards and add it to your hand. If you take the last Prize Card before your opponent, you win!
Each player starts by placing one Pokémon in their Active Spot. This is their Active Pokémon, and each player must always have one in play. If your opponent no longer has any Pokémon, it means you've won the game!
The bottom part of each player's play area is reserved for Bench Pokémon. Each player can have up to five Pokémon on the Bench at a time. Pokémon in play that are not the Active Pokémon must be placed on the Bench.
Each player starts with their own 60-card deck to play the game. Although both players know how many cards are in each deck, no one can look at or change the order of a player's deck unless a card specifically allows it.
Each player has their own discard pile. Cards removed from the game go to the discard pile unless a card says otherwise. Normally, when a Pokémon is Knocked Out, that Pokémon and any attached cards (such as Energy cards) are placed in the owner's discard pile.
